BRYANSK. March 4 (Interfax) - The Russian government will adopt a state program to upgrade the defense industry, said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
"Our task is to ensure a comprehensive renovation of the armed forces. This program is very intensive and burdensome for the budget, but it will probably breathe new life into the defense sector," Putin told the United Russia party's regional conference.
"Definitely, not probably. Because alongside the new state armaments program we must adopt a program to renovate the defense industry itself. Modern weapons can only be made using modern equipment," the prime minister said.<<<
